HAPPY DECEMBER FIRST! I'm kinda in awe of how quickly this past season slipped by. It's crazy that just a few months ago I didn't even know that we'd be engaged and opening a brand new store�all in time to relax and sip hot chocolate before Christmas! wow. Before I become a professional crazy person my one goal in December is to chill out more and enjoy the people I love and all the blessings we have. I love the Holidays.♥�

The Figures - Topography of Money Series by Tsilli Pines
I can't stop looking at the amazing mixed media work from Tsilli Pines.
Quoted from her site: "This series is about the topography of money in human consciousness, the constant parade of numbers in everyday life. The figures are at once imaginary and very real. I’m interested in the power numbers have in our lives, and how much they dictate, both psychologically and actually.
These pieces were made with pigment, vintage paper and cotton thread on rice paper. The color palette is intentionally restricted to red and black: the colors of accounting. The work details the extent to which I think about finances, and uses the historically feminine crafts of sewing, collage and rubber stamping to penetrate and explore the traditionally masculine realm of business in our lives."
Polaroid Composites by Patrick Winfield
I've been seeing a few Patrick Winfield polaroid composites popping up around lately in some interesting places. Clearly his nature/landscape/flower images are most popular, but I've always liked his more abstract composites like these, which almost approach a crossover to his collage work.
Good Reads
A commenter on my Boutiques.com post bought up a very salient point that beyond pure functionality, breadth and the ability to sell ‘everything under the sun’, consumers were surely after a more curated experience with extra value added content to get a better grasp of what the retailer is trying to do.� This I suppose is the internet echo of what has been going on in bricks and mortars stores since the concept of a ‘shop’ was invented – that there are huge department stores that sell everything except the kitchen sink or supermarkets that offer an abundance choice coexisting with small independent stores that lure you in with character and personality.

Results | 'Vogue Paris' vs. 'Pirelli' 2011 Calendar
This calendar is now simply ridiculous !! How could they pick up this "photographer" when u know the budget PIRELLI invest in such a production. Can't be worst.... It's an insult to all prestigious photographer who had shot it in past -StevenAmen John! You said it. Everyone in the business knows Karl is not a real photographer (that's why he only shows up on set hen his assistants have set up everything to "push the button") but the worst part is.. if technically he knows nothing, I don't think artistically his pictures are Worth a dime either. I can name 100 photographers who would have done a better job. -Mara�
